Pitt County is incredibly proud to be part of the BioPharma Crescent and the growing life sciences ecosystem across our region. The collaboration happening throughout Eastern North Carolina continues to create opportunities to strengthen our industry, workforce, and communities.

We were especially proud and excited to welcome the North Carolina Biotechnology Center (NCBiotech) 2026 to Greenville last week at East Carolina University. Bringing this event to Greenville was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the innovation, talent, research, and life sciences assets that make Eastern North Carolina such an important part of North Carolina’s biotechnology community.

A special thank you to Mark Phillips and the NC Biotech team for bringing together such a fantastic event and for helping shine a spotlight on the incredible life sciences work happening across Eastern North Carolina.

We also want to thank ElectriCities of NC for organizing a delegation from the Galician region of Spain to visit the BioPharma Crescent and learn more about the life sciences ecosystem and the exciting work happening throughout our region. International interest in what is being built here is a testament to the strength and potential of the BioPharma Crescent.

The week was a great reminder that collaboration is at the heart of a strong life sciences ecosystem. From regional partnerships to international connections, we are excited about the opportunities ahead and proud to play a role in growing the BioPharma Crescent.
